COVID-19 Response

In order to avoid public gatherings of large numbers of people in an enclosed space, DESK is operating on “reduced services” during this public health crisis.  Specifically, we will be serving all dinners as “grab-and-go” in take-out containers.  DESK’s Food Pantry is likewise distributing outside, where patrons will receive pre-packed groceries; others will receive food delivered to their homes through an inter-agency coordinated Grocery Delivery Program with the United Way, Loaves & Fishes, CARE, and others.

Our Mission

Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK) serves people who are experiencing homelessness or living in poverty by providing food assistance and services that promote health, community, and equity.  DESK operates an Evening Meals program, offering a hot dinner and bagged lunches, as well as weekly Food Pantry and a Summer Kids Pantry program.
